By Solomon OKPO

Uyo, In a show of solidarity and renewed commitment to the University of Uyo’s public image, the University of Uyo Alumni Association has undertaken a symbolic restoration of the main gate signage at the institution’s Town Campus.

The gesture, executed through a professional janitorial firm, formed part of a broader clean-up initiative aimed at enhancing the physical aesthetics and reinforcing the public perception of the university.

President of the Alumni Association, Mr. Ekerete Adiaiduo, who spoke on behalf of the Executive Council, described the act as more than a physical facelift—emphasizing that it symbolized the Association’s enduring resolve to uphold and project the dignity of their alma mater.

“This may seem like a simple intervention, but it carries deep symbolism. We are poised to uplift the image of our great institution wherever possible,” Mr. Adiaiduo stated.

He further noted that the project aligns with the Alumni Association’s commitment to the university’s core values of excellence, integrity, and community service, assuring that similar initiatives will continue under his leadership.

The move has been well received by students, staff, and visitors, who have praised the Association for its proactive involvement in campus development and institutional pride.
