By Solomon OKPO

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has emphasized the importance of love, effective communication, mutual respect, and tolerance as foundational values for a successful and blissful marriage.

The Governor offered this counsel at the All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket Local Government Area during the wedding ceremony of Patience Sunday and Isaiah Uko Godwin.

In his heartfelt address, Governor Eno said, “Your wedding ends the moment you step out of this hall. What begins is your marriage. Keep loving and talking to each other as you’ve done so far. Continue to tolerate one another and communicate regularly.”

He strongly advised the couple to avoid involving third parties in their marital affairs, stating, “Keep people out of your marriage. Don’t run to Mummy or Daddy. Whatever the issue is, resolve it between yourselves.”

Governor Eno stressed that marriage should be a journey of joy, not a battleground, and cautioned against violence or verbal abuse in relationships. He urged the couple to practice restraint in both words and actions during disagreements, wishing them a peaceful and rewarding union.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to good governance, anchored on his unshakable faith in God, stating that his leadership will always prioritize the wellbeing of the people without compromising spiritual values.

The Governor commended members of his executive team, referring to them as his dependable working family who will continue to be integral to his political vision.

The event drew a host of dignitaries including members of the State Executive Council, top politicians, and guests from various walks of life.
