In the not-so-distant past, Akwa Ibom State bore the brunt of toxic politics, a climate defined by bitterness, blackmail, open disrespect for elders, and the darkest consequence of all: bloodshed through killings and kidnappings. The political atmosphere was tense, and the people longed for a new beginning. Today, that longing has been met with what I proudly describe as Ebre-Owo politics, the politics of peace, maturity, and understanding.
This refreshing shift didn’t happen by accident. It is the product of intentional leadership, courtesy of His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno. His philosophy of governance is built on collaboration and inclusion, a “Chop I Chop” approach that has brought about unprecedented calm, unity, and realignment across political lines. This stands in sharp contrast to the past’s Nkpo-Ibagha syndrome, where governance was reduced to pettiness and division.
Now, Akwa Ibomites are gradually embracing this new political gospel, one of strategic alignment with the centre. This is not defection for survival’s sake; it is mature alignment for development’s sake. Today, the message is clear: Akwa Ibom can remain PDP and still support APC at the federal level, not out of compulsion, but out of a desire for progress and responsible governance.

I stand firmly with Governor Umo Eno. His peaceful disposition, development-driven agenda, and open-door leadership are worthy of support, not just till 2027, but till 2031. Under his watch, bitterness has no seat at the table. If you thrive on insults, blackmail, or drama, then this is not your season, perhaps it’s time to resign or step aside.
We equally stand by our son, the Distinguished Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio. His stewardship at the national level continues to yield dividends for Akwa Ibom State. We look forward to his re-election in 2027 and continuation in that high office till 2031.
And yes, we support President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term. Governance is not about partisan sentiments, it’s about performance, stability, and results. If we must see Akwa Ibom lifted to greater heights, then bipartisan cooperation is non-negotiable.

We must never return to the dark days of political witch-hunts and ego battles. Instead, let us rally behind the leadership that prioritizes peace over pride, development over division, and progress over propaganda.
Indeed, this is a new dawn. This is the era of Ebre-Owo politics. And we must protect it, together.
