Lady Helen Obareki Tees Off Inaugural Ibom Ladies Golf Tournament

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has performed the inaugural tee-off for the first-ever Ibom Ladies Golf Tournament at the Ibom Golf and Country Club, Uyo.

Addressing female golfers at the event, Lady Obareki emphasized the importance of the tournament in fostering unity, peace, and collaboration among women in the sport. She commended the organizers for their efforts and pledged her support for the team.

“It’s exciting for me to be here today to perform this honourable task of teeing off this tournament. I thank the organisers for inviting me. I believe this will foster unity among female golfers,” she remarked.

The Captain of Ibom Golf and Country Club, Mr. Isua Archibong, and the Lady Captain, Maryanne Udoka, also highlighted the significance of the tournament, noting that it was designed to promote friendship and teamwork among female golfers at the prestigious course, regarded as the best in West Africa.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of an award of recognition and a fully kitted staff bag to the First Lady Designate by the organizers of the First Ibom Ladies Kitty.

The tournament is expected to further strengthen the participation of women in golf and create lasting bonds among female players in the region.
