Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe has met with Kenya’s President, Dr William Ruto, in Nairobi to review preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
During the meeting, President Ruto thanked Motsepe for his commitment to the development of African football and reaffirmed Kenya’s determination to deliver a successful TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027.
Motsepe, in turn, expressed appreciation for the Kenyan President’s support and discussed key issues surrounding the country’s preparations for the continental showpiece.
As part of his visit to Kenya, the CAF President inspected the newly constructed Talanta Sports International Stadium, where he was impressed by the progress of work on the facility.
He also visited Kasarani Stadium to assess the ongoing preparations and provided feedback on areas requiring further attention ahead of the tournament.
The meeting and stadium inspections formed part of CAF’s continued engagement with the three host nations as preparations gathers momentum for the 2027 AFCON.
The delegation accompanying Motsepe included CAF Acting General Secretary Samson Adamu, CECAFA President Paulos Weldehaimanot Andemariam, Kenya’s Minister of Sport, Hon. Salim Mvurya, and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed.
