The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, has firmly stated that he will not hand over the leadership of the church to any of his biological children, emphasizing that the ministry belongs to Jesus Christ and not to any individual or family.
Pastor Kumuyi made the declaration while addressing concerns and speculations about succession within the church. He stressed that Deeper Life Bible Church was founded on biblical principles and is governed by divine direction rather than family inheritance.

According to the respected cleric, the church is God’s institution and must remain focused on fulfilling its spiritual mandate. He noted that leadership in the ministry would be determined according to God’s will and established church processes, not through hereditary succession.
Kumuyi explained that while his children are free to serve God and contribute to the growth of the ministry like every other member, none of them has a special claim to the leadership position because of their relationship with him.

The veteran preacher reiterated that the church’s future leadership must emerge from individuals who are spiritually qualified, committed to the vision of the ministry, and accepted by the church’s leadership structure.
His remarks have drawn attention from many Christians and church observers, especially amid growing discussions on succession planning in major religious organizations across the country.

Deeper Christian Life Ministry, founded by Pastor Kumuyi in 1973, has grown into one of the largest evangelical churches in Nigeria, with branches in several countries around the world
