Prof. Christopher Ekong Emerges 9th Vice Chancellor, Assumes Office June 16

Professor Christopher Ekong has been appointed as the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor, marking a significant milestone as the second alumnus of the University of Cross River State/University of Uyo to occupy the institution’s top academic office.
Prof. Ekong is scheduled to officially assume duty on June 16, 2026, amid widespread optimism from stakeholders within and outside the academic community.
