Pastor Eze Apologises, Urges Faith After Old Trafford Setback
Pastor Jerry Eze, convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has apologised to thousands of worshippers who were unable to gain entry into the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference held at Manchester’s Old Trafford stadium.
The situation reportedly left many worshippers disappointed after travelling to the venue with expectations of participating in the prayer gathering. While the conference attracted a large crowd, some attendees were unable to enter the stadium, prompting concerns and reactions from affected worshippers.
In response, Pastor Eze expressed regret over the experience and apologised to those who were denied access. He acknowledged the disappointment of worshippers who had made sacrifices to attend the programme, stressing the importance of treating people with love, dignity and understanding.
For many Christians, the incident has also highlighted the need for order, proper planning and effective crowd management at large Christian gatherings. Scripture reminds believers that “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33), while also encouraging Christians to let all things be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Despite the setback, the message of faith remains central to the NSPPD ministry and its worshippers. The development is a reminder that Christian gatherings may face human and organisational challenges, but believers are called to respond with grace, humility, forgiveness and love, keeping their eyes on God rather than allowing disappointment to weaken their faith.
