Princess Udoito apologizes to His Excellency Umo Eno.

The Paramount Ruler of Eket, His Royal Majesty Obong E. C. D. Abia, on Friday, September 18, 2026, led a delegation of traditional fathers and Princess God’sown Udoito to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, to offer an apology over what was described as “unguarded utterances” attributed to the princess.

The delegation, which visited the Governor as part of efforts to resolve the matter amicably, expressed regret over the statements and sought the Governor’s understanding and forgiveness.

The intervention by the traditional fathers underscored the importance attached to peaceful relationships and responsible communication within the state.

Receiving the delegation, Governor Eno accepted the apology and said he had long forgiven Princess Udoito over the matter. He urged her and other members of the public to conduct their advocacy and criticisms with decency, restraint and respect.

The Governor emphasized that differences of opinion and constructive criticism were part of public discourse, but such engagements should be guided by civility and responsibility.

He encouraged stakeholders to channel their concerns through appropriate platforms without resorting to statements capable of causing unnecessary tension.

The reconciliation visit brought the matter to a close, with the traditional fathers reaffirming the importance of peace, mutual respect and responsible advocacy.

The development also highlighted the role of traditional institutions in promoting dialogue and resolving disagreements within their communities.
