A visiting minister of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Danjuma Usman of South-South Region 22, Oron 1, has charged Christians to live righteous and humble lives in order to attract divine favour from God.
Pastor Usman gave the charge during a sermon titled, “My Season of Uncommon Favour,” delivered on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the South-South Region 3 headquarters of the church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Preaching from the Bible texts Esther 5:1-6 and Esther 4:16-17, the cleric described uncommon favour as a supernatural act of God capable of changing impossible situations.
He cited the story of Queen Esther, explaining that instead of being condemned to death for appearing before the king uninvited, she obtained favour and was elevated.
According to him, “It takes uncommon favour for a king to extend mercy and honour where punishment was expected.”
The minister also referenced Exodus 11, where the children of Israel borrowed gold, silver and valuables from the Egyptians before leaving Egypt, saying the event demonstrated the power of divine favour.
He noted that under normal circumstances, people would not willingly hand over their possessions to those preparing to leave permanently, but God caused the Egyptians to act favourably toward the Israelites.
Pastor Usman further cited Luke 1:28, where Angel Gabriel described Mary as “highly favoured,” stressing that uncommon favour is a special grace that distinguishes a person.
Defining favour as “a divine charm from God,” he said believers who carry God’s favour would experience acceptance and blessings wherever they go.
The cleric outlined several keys to accessing uncommon favour, including being born again, maintaining good character and relationships, humility, respect, prayer for destiny helpers, and living a holy life.
He warned that pride, bad character and broken relationships had caused many people to lose divine opportunities and helpers sent by God.
“Some people cannot rise to where God wants them to be without destiny helpers,” he said, adding that God places resources in the hands of certain individuals to uplift others.
Pastor Usman also reminded worshippers about the certainty of death, quoting Hebrews 9:27, which states that it is appointed unto man once to die and after that judgment.
He urged Christians to prepare their lives for eternity through holiness and obedience to God, noting that while prayers may delay death, they cannot prevent it forever.
The sermon ended with prayers for forgiveness and restoration of divine favour upon the lives of believers.
