The All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State has expressed appreciation to party stakeholders, leaders, and members for the successful conduct of the House of Representatives primaries held across the state on Saturday.
In a press release issued on May 17, the party described the exercise as peaceful, seamless, and transparent, noting that the primaries were conducted successfully across all electoral wards in the state.
The party particularly commended Umo Eno, leader of the APC in Akwa Ibom State, for what it described as exemplary leadership, political maturity, and commitment to ensuring a credible and rancour-free exercise.
The statement also praised the State Chairman of the APC, Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, for his “tireless and productive drive” in strengthening the unity and progress of the party in the state.
According to the release, the Local Organizing Committee led by Enobong Uwah was instrumental in coordinating the exercise and ensuring that eligible party members were not disenfranchised during the primaries.
The party further acknowledged the contributions of Local Government Area chairmen led by Uwemedimo Udo, as well as chapter and ward chairmen across the state for their grassroots mobilization, resilience, and effective coordination.
The APC also commended party faithfuls, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters who turned out in large numbers to participate in the democratic process of selecting candidates ahead of future elections.
Reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy and inclusiveness, the party stated that it would continue to work towards greater unity and electoral victories in the coming polls.
