Head Coach of Akwa United, Paul Offor, has declared consistency as the club’s driving force in the second stanza of the Nigeria National League, as the Promise Keepers seek to consolidate their leadership in Conference B.
Speaking during an interview with the club’s media department ahead of the league’s resumption, Offor stressed that sustaining high performance levels will be crucial in securing the sole promotion ticket available in the group.
Akwa United resume their campaign this weekend with a crucial home fixture against Rovers FC at the Uyo Township Stadium on Sunday. The Uyo-based side will be aiming to complete a season double over their neighbours after recording a 2–0 away victory in the first leg prior to the mid-season break.
Offor confirmed that the club has bolstered its squad with six new signings during the transfer window. The additions include forwards Fredrick Obi and Dada Oladimeji, midfielders Nsikak Raphael, Kingsley Uduak and Aniebiet Sunday, as well as central defender Melvin Ebitimi. The coach expressed confidence that the reinforcements will provide the depth and quality required for a strong finish to the season.
“With all we have done during the mid-season break, I can say that we are fully ready for the second round because the boys are in high spirit,” Offor said. “We have made the necessary changes and recruitments to ensure we finish strong. But the most important thing is to start this second stanza well against Rovers on Sunday.”
He added that the technical crew has intensified efforts to maintain focus within the squad, highlighting team bonding and tactical discipline as key components of their strategy moving forward.
“We want to maintain the consistency we had in the first round while improving where necessary. The boys are adapting to our philosophy, and that understanding will help us achieve our objective at the end of the season,” he stated.
Offor also commended the club’s management for its steadfast support and urged fans to continue standing behind the team, assuring them of a determined push toward a successful conclusion of the 2025–26 campaign.
