The Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) State Working Group has formally received its Certificate of Recognition from the Akwa Ibom State Government, marking a significant step toward strengthening criminal justice administration in the state.
The certificate, duly signed by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Inibehe Silas Etukudo, was presented on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Ministry of Women Affairs, Uyo.
With the certification, the working group is now legally empowered to commence full and intensive activities aimed at enhancing the implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law across Akwa Ibom State.
Chairman of the ACJL Working Group, DCP Joseph Udoh (Rtd), expressed readiness to discharge the group’s mandate, describing the development as a major boost to justice sector reforms in the state.
“We are now set to commence full and intensive activities in the state, having obtained formal recognition,” Udoh said.
A photograph taken at the event shows the ACJL Chairman, DCP Joseph Udoh (Rtd), alongside the Head of Media and Visibility, Evangelist Solomon OKPO of the group, both displaying the certificate at the Ministry of Women Affairs in Uyo.
The ACJL Working Group is expected to play a critical role in promoting speedy trials, protecting the rights of suspects and victims, and ensuring a more efficient and humane criminal justice system in Akwa Ibom State.
