The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has been honoured with the Public Servant of the Year award by The Daily Telegraph magazine.
The award recognizes the Commission’s achievements in accountability, infrastructure delivery, and youth empowerment across the Niger Delta. Among the initiatives highlighted is the Light Up the Niger Delta project, which has contributed to improving energy access and boosting local economic activities.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Ogbuku attributed the Commission’s accomplishments to the unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Assembly. He noted that their commitment to the region has motivated the NDDC to remain focused and diligent in carrying out its mandate.
Dr. Ogbuku emphasized that the recognition belongs not only to the staff and management of the NDDC but also to the numerous stakeholders who continue to support the Commission’s mission. He described the award as both an honour and a challenge one that inspires the NDDC to intensify its efforts toward delivering greater development outcomes for the Niger Delta.
