Senator Ekong Sampson, representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, has congratulated former Presidential Adviser and seasoned lawmaker, Senator Ita Solomon Enang, on his nomination as ambassador by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The commendation came on Tuesday when Senator Enang paid Senator Sampson a courtesy visit in his National Assembly office, ahead of Enang’s scheduled screening by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Describing the nomination as “a well-deserved national recognition,” Senator Sampson praised Enang’s decades-long public service, noting that his political career, spanning the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and the Presidency, has equipped him with the tact and experience required for effective diplomatic engagement.
He lauded President Tinubu for selecting Enang for what he called “an important national assignment,” expressing confidence that the ambassador, designate would represent Nigeria with honor and competence on the global stage.
Senator Sampson added that Enang’s legislative expertise, policy insight, and commitment to national unity make him “a valuable asset to the country’s foreign service.”
Wishing him a successful screening, the Akwa Ibom South Senator prayed for wisdom, strength, and success for Enang as he prepares to take on his new diplomatic responsibilities.
