The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on Nigerians to hold their state governors and local government chairmen accountable for their roles in addressing the current economic hardship in the country.
Speaking on the state of the nation, Yilwatda emphasized that governance does not rest solely on the federal government, noting that state and local administrations also have significant responsibilities in implementing policies that directly affect citizens’ welfare.
He urged Nigerians to demand transparency and performance from leaders at all levels, stressing that effective governance begins at the grassroots.
“The people must hold their governors and local government chairmen accountable. Development and relief efforts should not be expected only from the federal government,” Yilwatda said.
The APC chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to delivering good governance and ensuring that reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration yield positive results for all Nigerians.
Yilwatda also appealed for patience and collective effort, urging citizens to support government initiatives aimed at stabilizing the economy and improving living standards.
