UYO, Retired Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Joseph A. Udoh, Psc, has been elected Chairman of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) State Level Working Group in Akwa Ibom State.
In his acceptance speech, DCP Udoh expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in him, describing the appointment as both “a privilege and a call to service.”
He emphasized that the group’s mandate is to advance justice reform, strengthen the rule of law, and ensure a criminal justice system that is efficient, fair, and humane for all citizens.
“The ACJL represents a bold step towards transforming how justice is administered in our state reducing delays, protecting human rights, and restoring public confidence in the justice process,” Udoh stated.
He pledged to lead the working group with transparency and collaboration, highlighting the importance of partnership among the judiciary, police, correctional service, civil society, and development partners.
“Our success will depend on our unity of purpose and the shared belief that justice must be both accessible and accountable,” he added.
The newly elected chairman called on members of the working group to work together with determination and professionalism to translate the provisions of the ACJL into practical, impactful reforms across the state’s justice institutions.
Concluding his remarks, DCP Udoh prayed for divine guidance and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting justice and good governance in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria as a whole.
