“Battle Against Disappointment At The Point Of Breakthroughs!”

Text: Deuteronomy 28:13; John 1:12

Beloved, one of the fiercest battles a child of God will face in life is not at the beginning of a journey but at the edge of success. The enemy fights hardest at the point of breakthroughs, where testimonies are about to manifest. That is why many experience near-success syndrome, seeing opportunities but never entering them, preparing for breakthroughs but facing disappointment at the very last minute.

But the good news is this: God’s word declares in Deuteronomy 28:13 that we are destined to be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, provided we walk in obedience to His Word. Failure at the edge of success is not your portion.

1. The Promise of Elevation (Deuteronomy 28:13):
God’s plan is that His children walk in continuous progress and victory. You are meant to be above, not beneath. Disappointment at the edge of breakthrough is a satanic manipulation contrary to this promise.

2. The Power of Sonship (John 1:12):
Only those who receive Jesus and walk in Him have the divine power to overcome these battles. You cannot fight destiny battles with human strength. It takes divine power to subdue powers of delay, stagnation, and disappointment.

3. The Example of Israel (Numbers 14:1–4):
At the edge of entering Canaan, Israel almost turned back in unbelief. Many believers today face the same, failure at the very door of their testimonies. But Joshua and Caleb had another spirit and entered their inheritance. You too must rise with faith and spiritual violence.

Examine Yourself: Sometimes, self-sabotage causes delay (Lamentations 3:40). If you are your own problem, repentance is the starting point.

Engage in Prayer Warfare: Powers of witchcraft, stagnancy, and satanic monitoring spirits must be confronted and destroyed.

Hold on to Prophetic Promises: Refuse to agree with the enemy’s verdict. Align your confession with God’s Word.

Depend on the Holy Spirit: He alone can move you from where you are to where you are meant to be.

Lead the congregation through the warfare points you provided (selecting 10–15 for service use), e.g.:

Every yoke of failure at the edge of breakthroughs upon my life, break by fire, in the name of Jesus.

Every mark of failure at the point of success upon my life, be wiped off by the blood of Jesus.

Holy Ghost, take me from where I am to where I’m supposed to be, in the name of Jesus.

I shall fulfill my destiny at the appointed time, in Jesus name.

Disappointment at the edge of breakthrough is real, but victory is guaranteed in Christ. You were not created to circle the mountain of stagnancy forever. The God who lifted Joseph from prison to palace in one day is still alive.

Hold on to His Word, stand in prayer, and believe in Christ Jesus, for to as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become sons of God (John 1:12).

Declare with me: “I shall not fail at the edge of my breakthrough. My destiny shall manifest, and I will enter into my inheritance, in Jesus’ name. Amen!” (Narrative: D.K.Olukoya).
