Uyo, The Akwa Ibom State Government has dismissed as false and misleading a claim credited to Chief Dan Ulasi that Governor Umo Eno regrets joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, described the allegation as “mischievous, unfounded, and a desperate attempt at distortion.”
According to Umanah, Governor Eno has never met or spoken with Ulasi and could not have expressed such sentiments. He stressed that the governor remains “very comfortable and deeply committed” to the APC, working in full alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Governor Eno has leveraged the increased resources devolved to States under President Tinubu to drive the ARISE Agenda, with visible results in infrastructure renewal, empowerment programmes, and social investments transforming Akwa Ibom State,” the statement read.
The commissioner further noted that Akwa Ibom people are satisfied with the governor’s “sterling performance” and have embraced his leadership within the APC.
“If Chief Ulasi wishes to join the APC, the proper step is to do so openly, rather than dragging Governor Eno’s name into his political manoeuvres,” Umanah added.
He urged the public to disregard Ulasi’s claims, emphasizing that Governor Eno remains firmly at home in the APC and is focused on delivering good governance, peace, and sustainable development for both Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
