UYO, A Nigerian engineer and inventor, Engr. (Dr.) Anietie E. Ikott, is making bold claims in the fight against climate-induced disasters with the ongoing 21-day field testing of a pioneering weather control system—the CLEB M543 Weather Control Technology.
The public demonstration, which began on June 1, 2025, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is aimed at proving that excessive rainfall, destructive windstorms, and flood-related catastrophes can be scientifically prevented using indigenous technology.
According to the inventor, preliminary data from the first 12 days of testing have shown “clear and measurable success,” with only light showers reported—none lasting more than 10 minutes—and zero flooding or storm damage recorded during the period.
“This is a breakthrough in environmental engineering and disaster risk reduction,” said Dr. Ikott, who is also the CEO of Anirich Nigeria Ltd. “The CLEB M543 is engineered to stabilize atmospheric conditions and reduce the occurrence of extreme weather events, particularly those leading to deadly floods.”
The test enjoys goodwill backing from key national figures including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, who have expressed support for innovative climate resilience efforts.

Dr. Ikott states that if the test concludes successfully on June 21, 2025, he hopes state governors across Nigeria will adopt the CLEB M543 to end seasonal flooding and its associated losses across the nation.
“This is a call to action,” he said. “We can build a future where no Nigerian community suffers from flood devastation again. The technology is here, and it is homegrown.”
