Team Akwa Ibom delivered an outstanding performance on Tuesday afternoon at the ongoing National Sports Festival, claiming a total of four gold medals in a single day.
Rising weightlifting star Edidiong Umoafia led the charge, lifting his way to three gold medals in his category. Meanwhile, Blessing Emmanuel added to the medal tally with a spectacular win in the AYO Singles Event, securing one gold medal for the state.
With these victories, Team Akwa Ibom’s medal count has climbed to five gold, one silver, and two bronze medals as of the time of this report — a testament to the team’s determination and competitive spirit.
