2027 PCL Transfer Frenzy: APC Signs Top Strikers, PDP Battles Management Chaos As New Clubs Emerge

By Solomon OKPO

The political transfer window for the 2027 Political Champions League (PCL) remains wide open, and the action is heating up!

The All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to dominate the market, signing top political “strikers” while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) grapples with internal management crises, drawing comparisons to Manchester United’s struggles and Barcelona’s financial woes. With limited resources, the PDP either promotes young talents from its academy or banks on sponsorship deals to sign much-needed defenders, aiming to avoid conceding more goals ahead of the 2027 season.

Since APC’s blockbuster signing of BAT (Bola Ahmed Tinubu), the club has “run the streets.” The strategic acquisition of Wike on loan has further strengthened the squad, his influence was pivotal in defeating his former club in Edo.

All eyes are now on Osun, where newly signed defensive midfielder Sheriff and left winger Okowa are expected to join forces with Wike and Dapo to create a formidable “Galacticos” squad. Club CEO BAT confirmed that talks are in advanced stages to secure another skilled Osun midfielder to back up Sheriff in the heart of midfield.

Meanwhile, Labour Party FC (LP FC) is plotting a strong comeback, negotiating to sign Kano State’s No. 9 to bolster their attacking firepower ahead of the tournament.

On another front, the veteran goalkeeper El-Rufai is working behind the scenes to assemble a powerful squad, possibly by founding a new club or acquiring an old one. Veteran defenders like Atiku may also feature in this new formation. Additionally, sidelined attackers Saraki and Tambuwal have resumed personal training, sparking interest from APC, PDP, and LP camps as they monitor their fitness for a potential comeback.

Stay tuned, the 2027 PCL promises to be a blockbuster season!
