Politicians across Nigeria have been urged to emulate the humility, selflessness, and commitment to unity consistently demonstrated by Governor Umo Bassey Eno of Akwa Ibom State.

This call was made by Apostle Benjamin Edet Okon, the Eket Field Superintendent and Deputy Territorial Chairman of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, during a media chat at the 43rd Eket Major Easter Convention held in Eket. The convention was themed “The Power of Christ’s Resurrection.”

Apostle Okon commended Governor Eno for his inclusive leadership style, particularly his efforts to bring all political parties in the state together, fostering peace and harmony among diverse interests.

Describing the Governor as “a man with a heart of gold,” the cleric noted that Eno’s recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027 was a rare gesture that reflects political maturity and statesmanship.

He urged Nigerians to embrace love, unity, and forgiveness to collectively tackle the numerous challenges confronting the country.

Apostle Okon also called on the Federal Government to take urgent and decisive steps to address the nation’s security challenges, especially those affecting road travel and general safety.

Speaking on the direction of the church under his leadership, Apostle Okon revealed that he plans to ensure that members of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Eket Field, receive sound biblical teachings devoid of heresies. He stressed the importance of maintaining the apostolic doctrines, practices, principles, and prayer traditions that have historically brought spiritual transformation and societal deliverance.
