Akwa Ibom Govt Explores Tourism, Agriculture, And Power Sectors At EXCO Retreat Day 2

Day Two of the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council (EXCO) Retreat currently holding at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, delved into critical areas of development aimed at driving the actualization of the state’s ARISE Agenda.

The retreat, presided over by Governor Umo Eno, PhD, featured intensive sessions on unlocking the vast potentials in the tourism and agriculture sectors, strengthening the power sector, improving the state’s Geographical Information System (GIS), and enhancing procurement processes in government business.


Participants engaged with renowned experts including media and tourism icon, Mr. Ben Murray Bruce, and Mr. Eyo Ekpo, a senior adviser with the United Kingdom Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (UKNIAF). Also contributing were professionals from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, who offered insights on global best practices to guide the state’s developmental drive.


The interactive sessions provided a platform for in-depth discussions and collaborative strategy formulation geared towards achieving sustainable growth in Akwa Ibom.
