Senator Ekong Sampson, the distinguished representative of Akwa Ibom South in the National Assembly, has received high commendations from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State Executive Council (EXCO) members from his senatorial district for his impactful and effective representation in the Senate.
The accolades were showered on the Senator during a New Year parley hosted at the William Shakespeare Hall, Watbridge Hotels, Uyo, where he met with key party officers from Akwa Ibom South. The gathering served as an opportunity to review his legislative contributions and reaffirm party unity.
Speaking at the event, the State Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Harrison Ekpo, commended Senator Sampson for his stellar performance in the Senate, stating that the party was proud of his representation. He highlighted the Senator’s commitment to advancing the interests of the district at the national level.
Similarly, the Senatorial District Chairman of the PDP, Barr. Ekpung Edemumoh, praised Senator Sampson for being a loyal party stalwart who has consistently demonstrated dedication to the party’s growth at the grassroots, state, and national levels. He recalled the Senator’s instrumental role in the development of the PDP Permanent Secretariat in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, where he provided financial support for the acquisition of land and construction of the facility.
In his response, Senator Sampson expressed gratitude for the unwavering support he has received from the party leadership and pledged continued loyalty to the PDP. He reassured the party faithful of his commitment to strengthening the party’s structure and improving its effectiveness at all levels. The lawmaker further emphasized the importance of multi-party democracy as the foundation of Nigeria’s democratic process.
He also hinted at ongoing efforts to reposition the PDP for greater electoral success and promised to maintain regular engagement with party stakeholders to align strategies for the benefit of the district and the party.
It is noteworthy that over the Christmas period, Senator Ekong Sampson had earlier engaged with all PDP Chapter Chairmen from Akwa Ibom South, further cementing his relationship with key stakeholders. His dedication to inclusive representation has continued to earn him widespread support from party members and the electorate.
Present at the parley were notable party officials, including the State Assistant Secretary and Senatorial District Secretary, Rt. Hon. Anietie Sunday, State Organizing Secretary, Obongiwaad Emman Mbong, Senatorial District Youth Leader, Dr. Ben Edenseting, Elder Lawson Ukim, Obonganwan Sarah Ekwo, among other distinguished party officers.
With growing endorsements and party-wide confidence in his leadership, Senator Ekong Sampson appears poised for a formidable second-term bid in 2027.
