Cinnamon House Shines as Diplomats Academy Holds 7th Inter-House Sports Competition

It was a day of excitement and fierce competition as Diplomats Academy, Idoro Road, Uyo, hosted its 7th Inter-House Sports Competition on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at QIC Primary School, Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo.

Five houses—Cinnamon House (Orange), Lavender House (Green), Jasmine House (Red), Cedar House (Purple), and Vanilla House (Blue)—battled for supremacy in various sporting events, including track and field, football, volleyball, and table tennis.

After an intense display of talent and determination, Cinnamon House (Orange) emerged champions, while Lavender House (Green) and Jasmine House (Red) finished second and third, respectively.

The event also recognized outstanding athletes with awards such as Golden Boot (highest goal scorers), Most Valuable Player (MVP), and Best Goalkeeper, as well as accolades for the best table tennis and volleyball players.

Adding to the fun, pupils participated in sack race, egg race, and fishing in the bottle, while staff and parents joined the 100-meter race, making it a truly inclusive sporting festival.

 

The competition was graced by Prof. Etim Okon Effiong, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Science, University of Uyo, who presided over the event, alongside Prof. Isaac Ayandele, the school’s Principal Consultant.

The Diplomats Academy Inter-House Sports Competition once again proved to be a platform for fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic balance, leaving participants and spectators with lasting memories.
