Eket, The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Moses Godwill Ndiong and Abraham Udo, in connection with a burglary incident in Okpokpong, Eket Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the suspects were apprehended following a tip-off from a concerned citizen in the early hours of January 20, 2025. The Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, promptly deployed a team of operatives to the crime scene after receiving the report.
During interrogation, both suspects reportedly confessed to the crime. Several items stolen during the burglary were recovered, including:
A 65-inch LG Smart TV
A 42-inch LG LED TV
A 32-inch LG LED TV
A set of Sony Home Theater System
A 2900 SUMEC Generator
A Toyota Camry car with registration number KY984EKY
Six pairs of shoes
Electrical cables
Burglary tools such as a cutter and pliers
The police commended the vigilance of the citizen whose information led to the swift arrest and recovery of the stolen items.
While investigations are still ongoing, the Police Command has reassured the public of its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.
