The Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation and the Governor Umo Eno 2027 & Beyond Advocates (G-10) have declared their support for the re-election of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, in the 2027 governorship election.

The groups made their position known on Thursday, October 8, 2026, during a joint press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Uyo, saying the Governor’s people-oriented programmes and projects under the ARISE Agenda informed their decision.

The statement, delivered by Pastor John Archibong on behalf of the Founder of the Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation, Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo, said the foundation’s humanitarian objectives were closely aligned with several initiatives of the present administration.

Archibong explained that the foundation, established in 2005, had focused on improving the lives of underprivileged individuals and communities through scholarships, research grants, compassionate homes, water projects, vocational training and support for small businesses.

He said the G-10 was established to bring together individuals and support groups committed to promoting the achievements of Governor Eno and advocating continuity beyond 2027.

The groups specifically commended the administration for initiatives including compassionate homes and water projects across the state’s 31 local government areas, skills acquisition and human-capacity development programmes, model schools and hospitals, agricultural support and empowerment schemes.

They also listed road infrastructure development, interventions for vulnerable citizens, elderly-care initiatives, housing for civil servants, the Medical City project, the revitalisation of the Ibom Tropicana project and other ongoing development programmes as part of the reasons for backing the Governor’s second-term bid.

According to Archibong, the groups also acknowledged the administration’s payment of workers’ salaries, support for corps members, recognition of non-indigenes resident in Akwa Ibom and financial assistance to private schools.

He stressed that the Foundation’s endorsement represented the first time it had formally declared support for a political candidate, insisting that the decision was based on conviction as private citizens and not partisan politics.

Archibong therefore appealed to Akwa Ibom people and residents of the state, as well as other support groups, to support Governor Eno’s second-term ambition, arguing that continuity would enable the administration to consolidate its ongoing programmes and execute more development projects.

He said the groups believed the Eno administration had demonstrated commitment to policies and programmes capable of improving the welfare and living conditions of citizens.

The press conference was attended by representatives of the Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation, members of G-10 and leaders of other support groups.
