A prominent community leader and medical doctor, Dr. Samuel Udonsak, has called on Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, to remain firm in protecting the unity, peace and ancestral heritage of the State, warning against activities capable of creating division and conflict among the people.

Udonsak made the call in a goodwill message marking the 39th anniversary of the creation of Akwa Ibom State, while commending Governor Eno for what he described as his commitment to peace, unity and sustainable development.

The community leader urged the Governor to sustain his position against individuals and groups whose activities, according to him, could threaten the peaceful coexistence of Akwa Ibom people.

He particularly cautioned against what he described as “warmongers, opportunistic land grabbers and selfish agitators” allegedly pursuing interests capable of undermining the State’s ancestral heritage.

“It is heartwarming and noteworthy to highlight the resolve of the Governor that he will take very strong exception to unpatriotic elements who use various platforms to instigate disharmony in the State,” Udonsak stated.

He urged Governor Eno to maintain what he described as an “unmistakable posture” against individuals promoting division, adding that no campaign or advocacy should be allowed to become a source of bitterness, conflict or instability in the State.

“Let the Governor continue to transmit that energy and unmistakable posture towards war mongers, opportunistic land grabbers and selfish agitators for the creation of a whimsical state on someone else’s ancestral lands and heritage,” he said.

Udonsak also commended Governor Eno’s leadership approach and urged Akwa Ibom people to continue working together to preserve the peace and unity achieved since the creation of the State.

The community leader further expressed his support for Governor Eno’s second-term bid, saying he and others who believe in peace, unity and continued development would support the Governor’s re-election campaign.
He said the collective support of the people would be reflected at the polls, while assuring the Governor of their commitment to his political aspiration.

While congratulating Governor Eno and the people of Akwa Ibom on the 39th anniversary celebration, Udonsak paid tribute to the founding fathers of the State for their vision and sacrifices that culminated in the creation of Akwa Ibom.

He called on citizens to remain committed to peace, unity and development, stressing the need to protect the State’s heritage for present and future generations.

“Happy 39th Anniversary to Akwa Ibom State. Long live Akwa Ibom State,” he said.
