Gov. Umo Eno Refutes Refurbished Bus Allegations, Affirms Purchase of Brand-New Isuzu CNG Buses

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dismissed claims circulating in some quarters that the state’s newly introduced Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses are refurbished vehicles, describing the allegations as false and misleading.

The Governor maintained that the buses were purchased brand new from Isuzu and meet the required manufacturing and safety standards. He stressed that the procurement process was transparent and in line with the administration’s commitment to providing reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly transportation for residents.

Governor Eno noted that the acquisition of the CNG buses forms part of his administration’s broader strategy to modernise the state’s public transportation system, reduce the cost of commuting and embrace cleaner energy alternatives.

He urged members of the public to disregard misinformation regarding the buses, reaffirming that his government remains committed to prudent management of public resources and the delivery of quality infrastructure and services to the people of Akwa Ibom State.

The Governor assured residents that the CNG buses will significantly enhance public transportation while contributing to a cleaner environment and improved mobility across the state.
