Akpabio Lauds Gov Eno’s Unifying Leadership as APC Receives Enoidem
Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, for what he described as his exceptional commitment to peace, reconciliation and inclusive governance, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally received Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem into its fold.
Speaking at a well-attended political gathering at the Etim Ekpo Township Stadium in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, Senator Akpabio described Governor Eno as a rare bridge builder whose leadership style prioritises unity over division.
“My Governor, you are indeed a practical man of peace and reconciliation. Your visionary and impactful leadership is truly phenomenal, and I am very proud of you,” Akpabio declared to a cheering crowd of party faithful.
The Senate President specifically applauded Governor Eno for facilitating the reconciliation of Barrister Enoidem with his political family in the APC, stressing that sustainable development could only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and unity.
Welcoming Enoidem, a former stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akpabio described him as a man of capacity, diligence and proven service, noting that his return to the APC would further strengthen political harmony in Etim Ekpo, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and the state at large.
“This is reconnecting me with one of my political mentees. Barrister Enoidem represents hard work, steadfastness and excellent service. His return signifies greater peace and progress for this senatorial district,” he said.
In his remarks, Governor Umo Eno expressed gratitude to the Senate President for honouring the occasion and for his fatherly role in fostering unity within the district. He attributed the success of the reconciliation process to Akpabio’s guidance and leadership.
“Our success today would not have been possible without the fatherly love and care of Senator Godswill Akpabio,” the Governor said, while also commending Barrister Enoidem for his willingness to embrace peace in the interest of the state.
Barrister Enoidem, in his response, praised Governor Eno for his consistent reconciliatory efforts, describing the event as a product of sincere leadership and goodwill. He expressed delight at being reunited with Senator Akpabio, whom he described as a mentor, and pledged to work for the growth and development of the senatorial district and Akwa Ibom State.
Earlier, the State Chairman of the APC, Chief Stephen Ntukekpo, lauded the collaborative efforts of Governor Eno and Senator Akpabio in promoting unity and political stability across the state. He formally decorated Barrister Enoidem with the insignia of the APC, officially admitting him into the party.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, Hon. Gideon Noah, described Governor Eno as a unifying force whose leadership had spared the area needless political conflicts. He said the ongoing reconciliation among political stakeholders had repositioned Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District as a united political family.
Several dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong; the Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo; and other party leaders, thanked God for the renewed peace in Etim Ekpo ahead of forthcoming elections. They commended Senator Akpabio for his fatherly leadership, Governor Eno for his visionary governance, and Barrister Enoidem for choosing unity over political division.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; members of the National Assembly and State House of Assembly; members of the State Executive Council; traditional rulers; party stalwarts; captains of industry and a large cross-section of the public, marking what many described as a historic moment for political reconciliation in Akwa Ibom State.
