Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has extolled the leadership qualities of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, describing him as a man of humility, unity, and impactful governance.
The President, represented by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, gave the commendation on Saturday during a reception held at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene, after the funeral of the late Deaconess Eno Nnana Usoro, mother of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor (Operations), Mrs. Emem Usoro.
President Tinubu praised Governor Eno’s visionary approach to leadership, noting that his administration has continued to foster peace and development across Akwa Ibom State.
While consoling Mrs. Usoro and her family, the President paid glowing tribute to the late matriarch, describing her as a “great story of grace, faith, generosity, and service to humanity.”
“Deaconess Usoro’s life was a sermon, her kindness a ministry, and her legacy an inheritance that will outlive her,” the President noted. “Those who live in service to others never truly die but are resurrected in every act of goodness done in their name.”
Governor Umo Eno, in his remarks, appreciated the Vice President and other dignitaries for honoring the Usoro family and the state with their presence. He lauded Mrs. Usoro for her outstanding professional accomplishments and for attracting such a distinguished gathering to celebrate her mother’s life.
The Governor extended the condolences of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State to the bereaved family, urging them to take solace in the impactful life their mother lived in service to God and humanity.
Also speaking, Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Mrs. Usoro for making Akwa Ibom proud and for honoring her late mother in a dignified manner. He prayed that God’s peace would comfort the family during their period of mourning.
The funeral and reception were graced by members of the National Assembly, the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council, captains of industry, political leaders, and members of the public.
