CAPIS UNVEILS ₦30M FINANCING VOUCHER FOR ECONOMIC PARTICIPATION –₦35,000 Commonwealth Card Offers Access to Commercial Projects, Other Benefits

PORT HARCOURT, Capital Portfolio & Investment Systems (CAPIS) Limited has unveiled the CAPIS Commonwealth Card (3C), a platform designed to connect eligible clients with commercial project opportunities and provide access to a financing voucher of up to ₦30 million, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The company said the initiative, which operates under the tagline “Your Passcard to Economic Participation,” seeks to create structured pathways for individuals to explore business opportunities across agriculture, renewable energy, transportation, technology, shopping centres and commercial infrastructure.

According to CAPIS, the Individual Plan requires a one-time platform access fee of ₦35,000 and offers eligible clients access to the financing voucher. However, the company clarified that the voucher is not cash paid directly into a client’s bank account but represents financing capacity that may be applied towards qualifying commercial projects.

CAPIS emphasised that obtaining the card or accessing the voucher does not automatically guarantee financing, selection for a project or income. Rather, prospective participants must identify suitable projects, review the requirements and submit bids for assessment in line with the applicable selection criteria and project conditions.

The company explained that the bidding process may consider factors such as enrolment seniority, bid timing and project-specific requirements. Where a bid is accepted and all relevant conditions are satisfied, CAPIS facilitates the applicable financing to enable the selected client to participate in the commercial project.

INCOME SUBJECT TO PROJECT PERFORMANCE
On potential financial returns, CAPIS stated that income under the 3C framework depends on the performance of the underlying commercial project and the contractual terms governing participation.

The company noted that participants may receive applicable income distributions where a qualifying project operates successfully and generates a commercial surplus. Such distributions, however, depend on the project’s agreed surplus-sharing arrangements and are not guaranteed by possession of the card or financing voucher.

It also acknowledged that commercial projects are exposed to operational, market and other business risks, urging prospective clients to carefully examine the terms, conditions and risks associated with each opportunity before committing themselves.

HEALTH, BANKING AND LIFESTYLE BENEFITS
Beyond commercial project participation, the CAPIS Commonwealth Card ecosystem is designed to provide eligible clients with additional benefits, including health coverage, a Zenith Bank-powered electronic wallet and virtual card, as well as discounts of up to 10 per cent at participating partner outlets.

CAPIS said the availability and scope of these benefits would depend on the programme’s applicable terms, eligibility requirements and arrangements with the relevant service providers and partner businesses.

The company also identified contract financing as an alternative pathway within the 3C framework, alongside Commercial Project Bidding.

While the bidding option focuses on participation in qualifying commercial projects available through the platform, the contract financing pathway is intended to address clients whose commercial needs are better suited to contract-related financing opportunities.

CAPIS advised prospective clients to understand the requirements and implications of both pathways before making a decision.

CAPIS: A STRUCTURED ROUTE TO BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
The company said the central objective of the Commonwealth Card initiative is to provide a defined process through which individuals can identify commercial opportunities, assess project requirements, submit bids and, where selected, access financing facilitation for participation.

According to CAPIS, the model is intended to bridge the gap between the emergence of business opportunities and the ability of eligible individuals to explore participation in productive economic activities.

The company stressed that the initiative should not be viewed as a promise of instant wealth or guaranteed returns, but as a platform access service through which participants can pursue qualifying commercial opportunities under specified conditions.

CAPIS Limited is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria as a Venture Capital Manager, according to the company’s statement.

The company said its broader mission is to support sustainable financing and accessible capital through structured platform access services and financing pathways linked to commercial activities across productive sectors of the economy.

Prospective participants are advised to independently verify the company’s regulatory status, the availability and source of project financing, the contractual terms, applicable fees and potential risks before paying for the card or committing funds to any project. Registration with a regulator should not, by itself, be interpreted as a guarantee of financing, capital protection or investment returns.
