A tragic incident was reportedly recorded along Abak Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Thursday morning, August 13, 2026, after a young commercial motorcycle rider, popularly known as an Okada rider, was allegedly struck by a falling tree.
The incident reportedly occurred opposite the Ibom Cultural Centre, causing shock and sadness among residents and other road users in the area. The victim was said to have been riding along the busy road when the tree suddenly fell, leaving him critically injured.
Details surrounding the incident, including the identity of the deceased and the circumstances that led to the tree falling, were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.
