Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commended members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the impressive turnout and peaceful conduct recorded in the ongoing party primaries across the state.
Governor Eno gave the commendation while speaking with Government House correspondents shortly after participating in the APC senatorial district primary election at Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
The governor described the large turnout of party faithful as a clear indication of the growing acceptance and support for the APC in Akwa Ibom State, noting that the peaceful atmosphere witnessed during the exercise reflected the people’s confidence in the party and its leadership.
“For my ward, you can see for yourself the mammoth crowd. This is how it will continue to be. The love of Akwa Ibom people for the APC is very strong, and that is what you are seeing throughout these primaries,” he stated.
He added that even in areas where candidates emerged unopposed, the exercise still served as an opportunity to demonstrate the strength and unity of the party across the state.
“Even though some of the candidates are unopposed, this is to test our strength. You can see that our people have come out in large numbers and they are firm across the state. You can also see that the process has been peaceful throughout the state,” he added.

Governor Eno congratulated Senator Aniekan Bassey on his emergence as the APC candidate for Uyo Senatorial District, alongside other successful candidates who emerged during the primaries.
The governor also reassured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the unwavering support of Akwa Ibom people ahead of the APC presidential primary scheduled for May 23, 2026, as well as the 2027 general elections.
