The political landscape in Eket Local Government Area has taken a new turn following the resignation of Hon. Abasuta Bassey, the immediate past chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Hon. Bassey, in a statement issued on Sunday, announced his decision to quit the party with immediate effect, citing a combination of personal and political considerations. Though he refrained from providing detailed reasons for his exit, the former candidate expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters who backed his ambition during the last local government elections.
