Women in Akwa Ibom State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno for a second term in office.
The endorsement was made during the 2026 celebration of International Women’s Day held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, popularly known as the Nest of Champions, in Uyo.
The proclamation was jointly led by the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Akon Eyakenyi, and a prominent women leader, Helen Obareeki, who spoke on behalf of women groups across the state.
Addressing the gathering, the women expressed satisfaction with the leadership style and policies of the three political leaders, noting that their administrations have demonstrated commitment to inclusive governance, development, and the empowerment of women.
They stated that the endorsement was a collective decision by women across the state, who believe that continuity in leadership would further consolidate ongoing development initiatives and strengthen policies that promote the welfare of women and families.
The event attracted women from the 31 local government areas of the state, alongside political stakeholders, government officials, and representatives of various women organisations who gathered to commemorate the global day dedicated to celebrating the achievements and contributions of women in society.
