Gov. Umo Eno Leads State Officials to Unveil Biography of Outgoing Head of Service, Elder Effiong Essien

Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, on Thursday, November 13, 2025, led members of the State Executive Council and representatives from other arms of government to the public presentation and launch of The Humble Boss, the official biography of Elder Effiong Essien, the outgoing Head of Service of Akwa Ibom State.

The high-profile event took place at the elegant CEEDAPEC Hotel in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, drawing an impressive audience of top government functionaries, members of the literary community and dignitaries from across the state.

The Humble Boss was authored by renowned broadcaster and poet James Edet, with Emmanuel Afahanam and Edem Okon serving as co-authors. The biography is published by Gallop Books, a publishing firm founded by acclaimed journalist and technocrat, Anietie Usen.

Presiding over the ceremony was Ambassador Assam Assam, SAN, who served as Chairman. The book was formally launched by Engr. Uwem Okoko, Managing Director of Hensek Integrated Services, who took on the role of Chief Launcher.

One of the highlights of the event came from Professor Effiong Johnson of the University of Uyo. The respected Theatre Arts scholar delivered an engaging and insightful review of the book, captivating the audience with his trademark depth and eloquence.

The ceremony not only celebrated Elder Essien’s career and contributions to the state’s civil service but also highlighted the power of storytelling in documenting leadership, service, and legacy.
