In a strong show of confidence and solidarity, the Nigerian Youths Initiative Forum (NYIF) has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno, and Senator Ekong Sampson for second terms in office, citing their performance, vision, and leadership qualities.
Speaking at a press conference, the National President of NYIF, Comrade Iboro Imose, said the endorsement reflected the Forum’s patriotic assessment of the current leadership’s contributions to national growth and stability.
“Our decision is neither partisan nor sentimental,” Imose stated. “It is born out of deep reflection and patriotic conviction. These leaders have consistently demonstrated courage, compassion, and commitment to Nigeria’s development.”
He commended President Tinubu’s reform-driven administration, describing it as courageous and essential for building a self-reliant and prosperous Nigeria.
“As youths, we understand that genuine transformation requires courage, and President Tinubu has demonstrated that courage,” Imose added.
On the performance of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the NYIF praised his leadership for restoring maturity and vibrancy to the 10th National Assembly, while fostering stability and collaboration between the executive and legislative arms.
The Forum also lauded Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State for what it called “humility in leadership and tangible results in governance,” highlighting the successes of his Arise Agenda focused on peace, agricultural transformation, youth empowerment, and rural development.
Turning to Senator Ekong Sampson, who represents Eket Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Solid Minerals, the group commended his record of effective representation and people-centered projects.
Among his notable initiatives are the establishment of ICT/CBT Centres across the district, medical facility upgrades in Eket, Ikot Abasi, and Oron, as well as educational and power projects that have improved lives in local communities. The Forum also recognized his efforts in facilitating federal employment opportunities for over 40 constituents.
As Chairman of the Akwa Ibom National Assembly Caucus, Senator Sampson has advanced critical bills and projects, including the revitalization of ALSCON, the University of Maritime Studies, Oron, and the Federal Universities of Technology (Ikot Abasi) and Medical Sciences (Eket). His Bill for a Federal Medical Centre in Akwa Ibom South has also been passed into law.
Reaffirming the Forum’s commitment, Comrade Imose emphasized that the endorsements symbolize the group’s confidence in continuity and stability.
“This is not just an endorsement, it is a statement of confidence. Good leadership deserves continuity. Progress must not be interrupted, and leaders who deliver must be supported.”
He urged Nigerian youths to rise above political and regional divides and unite behind credible leadership, stressing that democracy thrives on competence, character, and continuity.
The NYIF pledged to continue promoting youth inclusion, entrepreneurship, innovation, and accountability in governance, while partnering with leaders committed to national development.
“We will continue to support leaders who serve, not self, but society,” the Forum declared.
Concluding the event, Imose reaffirmed the Forum’s collective faith in the leadership of Tinubu, Akpabio, Umo Eno, and Sampson, expressing optimism that their continued tenure would sustain the momentum of progress in Nigeria and the region.
“Let us move forward together, with unity, with faith, and with hope for a greater Nigeria,” he said.
