Ikono/Ini Reps Member Disburses ₦239m, Unveils New Projects at ARISE Town Square Meeting

Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom — It was a day of empowerment and celebration as the people of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency witnessed the disbursement of ₦239 million in cash and equipment to 476 beneficiaries during the ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment Series.

The event, which drew a massive turnout, also featured the formal presentation of the constituency’s NEEDS document to the lawmaker for inclusion in the 2026 People’s Budget.

In a show of solidarity and support for grassroots development, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong Udo pledged a ₦200 million solar-powered street lighting project that is expected to transform rural communities and improve security within the constituency.

Highlighting his commitment to inclusive governance, the lawmaker announced the elevation of his aide, Mr. Essien Lawrence, to the position of Special Assistant on Public Works in recognition of his loyalty and dedicated service.

 

The occasion climaxed with the conferment of a traditional title, Obong Iberedem Ikono ndo Ini, on the lawmaker by the Paramount Rulers of Ikono and Ini in acknowledgment of his contributions to the socio-economic advancement of the constituency.

 

Reaffirming his dedication to the ARISE Agenda, the federal legislator pledged to continue working closely with leaders and communities to deliver sustainable development that meets the needs of the people.
