The people of Idung Offiong Village in Eket Local Government Area have applauded Governor Umo Bassey Eno for his commitment to educational development, following the construction and commissioning of a model primary school in the community.
In a statement jointly signed by the Village Head-elect, Pastor (Chief) Peter Warrie Okpo; Chairman of the Village Council, Obong Victor Akpan Atte; and Youth President, Obongmkparawa Daniel Solomon, the community described the project as a bold step toward bridging educational gaps in rural areas.
According to the statement, the establishment of the model school in Idung Offiong reflects Governor Eno’s determination to bring modern infrastructure closer to the grassroots, thereby fostering inclusive development.
The community also expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s approval of a secondary school to be sited in the village, which they described as “magnanimity beyond words” and a major milestone in boosting access to quality education for their children.
Reaffirming their loyalty to the current administration, the people of Idung Offiong pledged total support for Governor Eno beyond 2027, assuring that their commitment will be demonstrated at the polls.
They further commended the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Hon. (Mkpisong) Frank Archibong; the Executive Chairman of Eket Local Government, Rt. Hon. (Mkpisong) Akaninyene Tommy; Hon. Inyang Ebuk, and other political stakeholders whose efforts contributed to bringing the projects to fruition.
“We pray the Almighty God to bless, keep and strengthen Your Excellency as you continue to lead Akwa Abasi Ibom State to greater fulfilment,” the statement concluded.
