SPORTS: President Tinubu Showers Super Falcons with $100,000, National Honours, and Abuja Homes

ABUJA, In a resounding show of appreciation and national pride, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rewarded the Super Falcons with a generous package of $100,000, national honours, and housing for their spirited performance at the just-concluded 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

The announcement was made Monday evening during a special reception in Abuja, where the President hosted the gallant players and officials of the national women’s football team. Tinubu praised the Super Falcons for their resilience, discipline, and unyielding representation of Nigeria on the continental stage.

As part of the reward, each member of the squad is to receive a cash gift of $100,000, a three-bedroom apartment at the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in the Federal Capital Territory, and a national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

“This reward is not just for winning games; it is a token of our collective appreciation for your patriotism, courage, and the inspiration you give to millions of Nigerians, especially our girls,” President Tinubu stated during the ceremony.

The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s most successful football team, reached the final of the 2025 WAFCON, drawing admiration across the continent for their skill and sportsmanship.

With this gesture, the Tinubu administration continues to underscore its support for sports development, gender inclusion, and national unity through recognition of excellence.
