Bendel Insurance FC to begin 2025/2026 preseason training, June 22nd

Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin City that narrowly missed out on one of the tickets to the CAF Confederation Cup next season will begin it’s 2025/2026 preseason training for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), on Sunday June 22nd 2025.

In a circular released by the secretary Charles Ihimekpen, the management of the club directed all the players and officials to resume on Sunday, June 22,2025.

The circular went further to state that, first training session is scheduled for Monday, June 23 beginning by 8:00am.

Meanwhile, the Supporters’ club of the Benin City based outfit, led by Chief Osadolor Ogiefa has restated their commitment to the team and promised to remain faithful to the club come rain or shine.

Chief Osadolor Ogiefa made the pledge during a combined meeting involving the supporters club and the technical crew members of the Benin Arsenals in Benin City, South-South, Nigeria.

Chief Ogiefa said that Bendel Insurance supporters under his watch remained committed to the progress of their darling club. Emphasizing that they were proud of the team.

“We are happy to have the members of our technical crew with us this afternoon. We want to again, commend Coach Greg Ikhenoba led crew for their resilience and commitment throughout last season. Nobody gave us the chance at all but you people really made us proud by fighting back from relegation zone to top five. It was a remarkable feat and we will have to build on that and get better in the coming season.”

The Supporters Club boss added that are ready to give their all to club that makes them happy.

“We the supporters want to appeal to you on team work and spontaneous cooperation and as well to carefully recruit players that are disciplined and ready to serve the interest of the club. We all know that with the right set of players irrespective of where they come from to fill the gap for us, we are capable of making podium finish next season.”

“Edo State Government is committed, management is ready; we are all ready. So, the responsibility is on the players to make us succeed. Therefore,we need only disciplined and committed players to wear our jersey,” he stated.

Head Coach Greg Ikhenoba, expressed his deep appreciation for his technical crew, assuring the supporters and Edo people that his team will work tirelessly to bring laurels home next season.

He described the Bendel Insurance supporters club as the best in the country. ” Words are not enough to express my appreciation, particularly for having faith in me. The mantle of leadership fell on me at a very difficult time and you all supported me and the team.”

Coach Greg Ikhenoba, was very grateful to the Almighty God for the the club’s outing in the just concluded season.

“Thank God we were able to turn things around to the extent that we were even among the contenders for CAF Continental ticket. We still want to appeal to you not to relent, we shall all celebrate together in the subsequent seasons,” he said.

Meanwhile the management of NPFL says the 2025/2026 NPFL season would kick off on August 22nd, 2025.
